I assist clients in weighing these factors to select the best entity form for their particular situation, and then help them get the appropriate documents drafted and filed to support that entity form. I can also assist in negotiating contracts, franchise agreements, employee agreements, and other legal issues.

Succession Planning

I assist clients with existing sole proprietorships, LLCs, and corporations to structure succession plans. Business succession is a proactive tool to select the individual who will handle the operation when you are ready to pass it on to someone else. A succession plan provides your business with direction and avoids an internal dispute between family members or business partners if you should die while operating your business. Active in the Business Community

In addition to my business law practice, I volunteer as a counselor with SCORE, "Counselors to America's Small Business," where I advise individual entrepreneurs who want to start or expand a small business. I am also a member of the New Enterprise Forum, a local organization designed to link entrepreneurs with management expertise and other critical resources. I am also an active member of the State Bar of Michigan Business Law Section. In that environment and in my practice of business law, I bring my legal knowledge and experience, a master's in business administration, and a hands-on background in the business world prior to becoming an attorney.
